Local Theatre Groups Shine at Zone Festival

Chekhov Award Winners: Sharon Watts, Sharon Malone and
Charlene Rowley, winners of the awards forSet Design and
Costume Design for Emerald Pig Theatrical Society

The Fraser Valley Zone held the largest zone festival in the province (May 1-7) 2005, with 9 shows in 7 days! Congratulations to everyone who participated and shared this wonderful week of theatrical celebration! We sailed into the Inlet Theatre in Port Moody with style and grace, full of hopes and dreams and energy. We sailed out a little wearier, but still happier for the experience and realization of our dreams. As Fran Gebhard, our talented, knowledgeable, kind and generous adjudicator put it "there just aren't enough awards to go around. You are all winners!" She went on to acknowledge the strong, rooted work and dedication to the craft of the each group, including Langley Players, Family of Comics, Stage 43, Gallery 7 Theatre Company, Emerald Pig Theatrical Society, Smilin' Armadillies Theatre Troupe, Theatrix Youtheatre Society and Table 23 Comedy Troupe.
